Consulting & Training

My guiding principal is that all development teams should have an in-house database expert.

I understand that finding someone to fill this role can be challenging. Few people know this job exists, and fewer are looking for this kind of work.

That leaves most organizations with one option: hire someone who can think systematically and analytically, and then train that person to do the job.

I can help your team members, whether they’re new to you, new to fundraising, new to the role of database manager, or just in need of some additional skill building, to become your database expert. I will use my background in education to meet your team members where they are and build a custom curriculum to get them to where they need to be.

And once your team is on their feet, I’ll leave it to you to take control of your own destiny.

  • My primary expertise is in Raiser’s Edge NXT and RE7. I also have direct experience with Luminate, TeamRaiser, Greater Giving, Qgiv, Funraise, and other platforms that serve to drive data to Raiser’s Edge.

  • Most donor database systems operate on similar concepts, and to the extent that I can generalize my understanding of data best practices, I can help you with other platforms.

I’m willing to learn new systems in order to bolster your team’s skills, but that may not always be the most cost effective course of action for you. So this is handled on a case by case basis.

  • Many organizations are looking for consultants who will more or less do the entire job for them, from data entry, to data cleaning, to reporting. I am not offering to be your data entry staff.

I can train new data entry staff, or help make your current systems more efficient. I can also do some large scale data cleanup tasks if your database is in particularly bad shape. But I strongly believe that day to day operations should be handled by in-house staff.
